Abbas Hazer

Abbas is a Senior Manager, Business Development at a Provincial utility where he plans and oversees major clean energy projects, and continuously explores business growth opportunities that would be of benefit to residents and communities across Ontario. He holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto, and an MBA degree from the Ted Rogers School of Management at the Toronto Metropolitan University. Abbas is a licensed Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in the province of Ontario and holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute.

After experiencing the challenges faced by new immigrants to Canada, Abbas strived to coach and mentor newcomers to the country, and bring awareness to the vast resources at their disposal. His dedication to helping others has immersed him in a variety of extracurriculars over the years, including mentoring BIPOC youth, presiding a cultural community student organization, and chairing Equity, Diversity & Inclusion committees. Abbas is committed to giving back to the community and he encourages others around him to 'pay it forward'.
